FA29: Trends in Independent Students with Dependents in Poverty


Displays 10 year trend of the number of independent students with dependents living in poverty by student level group (e.g. undergraduates, graduates, first professional, and all students), residency status (e.g. in-state, out-of-state, and total) and institution.

Note: "Independent Students with Dependents" the number independents with dependents who filled out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA).
  • "Living At/Below Federal Poverty Level (FPL)" the number of independent students with dependents living at or below FPL.
  • "Living Above Federal Poverty Level (FPL)" the number of independent students with dependents living above FPL.
"Residency Status" there are cases where a student's residency status may change between institutions, therefore a student may be duplicated in the sector totals.
"Graduate and First Professional Students" SCHEV Research did not begin collecting graduate and first professional financial aid information from the institutions until 2004-05.
