Educational and General (E&G) Expenditures by Program







Notes:

"E&G Expenditures" are in both nominal and constant dollars (adjusted for inflation using the most recent year). "Virginia Community College System (VCCS)" includes expenditures from all community colleges, the VCCS - Central office, and starting in 2017-18, the VCCS - Shared Services Center.

Total expenditures by program may be different from the total expenditures by object. This is because the Virginia statewide financial database does not allow to make changes once it is closed for a fiscal year. SCHEV is mandated to report institutions’ E&G expenditures by program to the Governor and General Assembly annually. Therefore, SCHEV verifies the expenditures by program with institutions, which may result in adjustments if an institution finds errors. The expenditure by object is directly extracted from the statewide financial database without institutions’ verification.
